LINKIN PARK: Episode #2 Of LPTV Posted Online
March 27, 2007LINKIN PARK has posted the second episode of the LPTV at YouTube. Episode #2 offers a look at Projekt Revolution Tour 2003 and the backstage antics before and after various shows. Project Revolution Tour 2003 featured BLINDSIDE, XZIBIT, MUDVAYNE, and LINKIN PARK in 13 cities across America.
LPTV will premiere new episodes every Monday and Thursday on YouTube, giving fans an inside look at the writing and recording process of the new LINKIN PARK album as well as never-before-seen footage from the "Meteora" world tour.
LINKIN PARK's new album, entitled "Minutes to Midnight", will hit stores May 15. Vocalist/MC Mike Shinoda said in a statement that the new effort was "a breakthrough in the development of the band's sound. We wrote in new ways, and used instruments and equipment we hadn't experimented with before... We tried to question every step in our songwriting process."
Shinoda co-produced the CD with Rick Rubin and said he enjoyed working with the 2007 Grammy winner for Producer of the Year. "Rick's amazing," he said. "He's awesome. He's constantly...the thing about Rick that I love is he's unpredictable. He'll listen to a song and he'll throw out an idea that seems like it's just completely out of nowhere, but it makes a lot of sense and it makes the song better."
Rubin said about the new LINKIN PARK record, "They really are reinventing themselves, it doesn't sound like rap-rock. There's very strong songwriting. It's very melodic...a progressive record."
LINKIN PARK spent 14 months working on the album, demoing more than 100 songs before settling on the final track listing. "Minutes to Midnight" follows 2003's "Meteora", which has sold 5.4 million copies in the U.S.
LINKIN PARK will headline the second day of this year's Bamboozle festival on May 6 in New Jersey and will announce details of its summer tour next month. Singer Chester Bennington confirmed to MTV.com that the band will revive its Projekt Revolution trek, probably starting around July 24 and extending through Labor Day. Also rumored to be on the bill are MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, PLACEBO, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, H.I.M., SAOSIN, THE BLED and MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE.
